Student United Way of Union County completed two volunteer projects in April. On Thursday, April 21, they volunteered with Fairbanks High School FCCLA to clean up Liberty Park as part of an Earth Day celebration. This was the 2nd year the two clubs collaborated thanks to the efforts of Cade Feller, senior at Fairbanks HS.

On Saturday, April 30, students joined with North Union Memorial Monument curators Gail DeGood-Guy and Jennifer Michael to landscape around the memorial. The group replaced flags (donated by the VFW Post 870), planted flowers, and laid new mulch. United Way of Union County has been helping with this project since 2008. Brandi Hibbs, Student UW of Union County Advisor, recruited the United Way team of Jake Hibbs (Marysville HS), Maddie Irving (Marysville ECHS), Anna Beard (North Union HS), Liza Streit (Jon. Alder HS), and Avery Wynk (Jon. Alder HS), Chad Hibbs, Corie Bix, and Brandon Bix. George Showalter, Village Councilman, also joined the project.
