These are on-going opportunities and needs in Union County. For one-time opportunities, group projects, and special events, please reach out to the individual agencies.

American Red Cross

Details: The need for blood is constant. Many local drives are available. Check the Red Cross website for dates and locations.

Details: Blood Donor Ambassador. Volunteer blood donor ambassadors ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. During a blood drive, whether you’re greeting donors, answering questions or thanking them for their donation, your courtesy and professionalism will create a favorable impression that encourages ongoing donor support.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Details: Mentors are always needed to work with youth ages 5 - 14.

Bridges Community Action Partnership

Details: If you are looking to volunteer with an amazing Non-Profit agency, we could use you. We are looking for volunteers to be able to help assist our clients in their upcoming tax preparation. We use Tax Slayer software and provide information for training. We work one night a week depending on the location.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Union County

Details: United Way of Union County has sponsored the DPIL program since 2008. It costs $25/year to send a book each month per child. Donate to UWUC to help us keep the program going.

The Hope Center

Details: On-going needs with community meals, furniture bank, mobile markets, ReStore Clothing Ministry, and more.

The Union County Medical Reserve Corps

Details: Assist the Union County Health Department with everyday public health activities and give volunteer support during public health emergencies.

Union County Neighbor to Neighbor

Details: Neighbors helping neighbors age in their homes! Short- or Long-Term Volunteer Programs are available — Orientation, training, background check involved, members and volunteers fully vetted. Tasks may include well-check calls or visits, grocery delivery, non-grocery related errands, outside jobs, cleaning, etc.

Details: On-going volunteers and donations needed — Household cleaning products (toilet bowl cleaner, laundry detergent, dish soap, trash bags, paper towels); Personal Hygiene Products (deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, band aids, soap, body wash).
